Wear Cougar Blue with Pride!!
Although our family has been TRUE BLUE Cougar fans since I could remember, today we can "Officially" wear Cougar Blue with Pride. Logan was accepted to BYU in the Fall of 2009. We are so proud of him for his dedication to getting good grades, to knowing what he wanted and achieving it, and for being a worthy priesthood holder and example of a fine LDS young man. We want him to know that we love him and are so excited for him to experience BYU as a true Cougar!

Canadian Visitors!
Yesterday, we were priviledged to have 4 of the students from the Institute that Shea was serving in, have dinner with us. They are here on a snowboarding trip and were able to come to our home. We enjoyed so much visiting with them about Sister Whittaker and their doings at the "tute". We talked about the word differences, food, and weather. They all spoke very highly of our daughter and how well she is doing as a missionary for our Heavenly Father. We laughed, ate, hugged, and of course the mother cried. We are so grateful for the service and sacrifice that Shea is making. We are grateful for her and her desire to serve. Her testimony has grown so much and we are so very proud of her and all that she is accomplishing.

Nacho Libre wrestling is alive!
Yesterday, while I was downstairs, I could hear this loud giggling and grunting. So I went up stairs and discovered Easton and his friend Cameron in the Nacho Libre masks that my brother brought us back from Mexico. They were wrestling Nacho Libre style. Needless to say, it ended heated and Easton's friend slammed the door and said "I am going home". I went in the bedroom, where they had moved the match, because Jordy was teaching piano amongst all the chaos, to find these two red in the face angry and sweaty. After coaxing them to shake hands and remain friends, they started giggling again. Luckily it was dinner time, and all wrestling had to be postponed to another day.

25 Random things about me....Marnie
I have become a facebook junkie....but I was recently tagged and needed to share 25 Random things about me. This was fun and I didn't know if I could come up with 25, but I did and thought I would share and save it for posterity.....Haha!
1. I LOVE being a Mom!
2. I very rarely miss out on anything my kids do. My parents never missed what I did and always supported me, so in honor of them, I want my kids to have the same advantage.
3. I enjoy adding to my collection of DVD"s, and even buy some that I've never watched, which is a disease rather than a hobbie. My husband says he'd be a very rich man if I had never started this bad habit.
4. Lake Powell is the greatest place on earth! It's even better with your kids, however a trip with just your spouse is different, but amazing!
5. This fall could be a BIG milestone for me, as my 3 oldest could be moved out and on their own. I cry when I think about it, and my family just rolls their eyes as if to say.."There she goes again."
6. I enjoy reading, but don't have much time to do it. Love taking a romance novel on a trip and losing myself in it.
7. I LOVE being a missionary MOM! Though Shea's absence is hard, I enjoy so much every week when I get her emails and witness how much her testimony is growing and how mature she is becoming! I can now say honestly....She gets it! I am so proud!
8. I have kids in all stages of life....for this I wonder what I was thinking! A missionary, A college student, a high school student, a junior high student, and a kindergartner.
9. I love running outside, but the treadmill makes me crazy! Hurry spring!
10. Teenage boys bring many emotions....proud, embarrassed, anger, joy, frustration, tears, love, and honored.
11. Diet Coke was my fav...but now a thing of the past! Can't quite give up licorice, cinnamon bears, m&m's, etc.......the list goes on!
12. We play in a Pounce(card game) group and enjoy the friends that are in the group! We eat, play games, eat, laugh, eat, chat, and do it all over again!
13. I love the spring because the sum seems brighter, the tulips bloom, and people are outside again!
14. Baseball is fast approaching! All my boys will be playing this year! What more could I ask for then games every night! I LOVE it!
15. I enjoy going out on the boat with my kids! Their attitudes totally change when we're all on the boat away from the struggles of the world. They cheer for each other, encourage each other, and genuinely love being with each other!
16. I love how my husband wrestles with the kids...even the girls! They are tough! I heard once that the realationship that a father has with his children is critical to their well-being!
17. Each of my children are different. They all have different strengths and different weaknesses. But I love them all the same!
18. All work and no play, makes the Whittaker's unhappy! We work hard and we also play hard!
19. Date Nights' are essential!
20. I love laying in the sun, going to the beach, waterskiing, sitting on my front porch in the sun waiting for my kids to come home from school, and sitting in the sun at a baseball game! Hence sunscreen is a must!
21. Yardwork is my out! I mow the lawn....because I love it and there are certain ways to do it. I weed the flower beds.....because I love it and I know what is weeds and what is flowers. I squirt off the porch and the driveway.....because it looks better after and because my parents always did. I let Boomer trim the bushes.....because then he feels apart of the yardwork, but I generally clean it up.
22. I enjoy staying in my pajama's all day!
23. I love watching movies while I fold laundry! Sometimes I forget the laundry.
24. I feel so blessed with the 5 kids that I have. I sometimes wonder why I deserve them....there are times when I feel I don't. They are great! They strive to CTR and do the things they know they should. They complete me, and make me want to be better in all that I do! What would I ever do without them all..........Life would be VERY boring!
25. My husband is my world! My teammate, my confidant, my friend, and my everything!

Funny Easton comment
I was ironing a shirt for Easton to wear to church this morning, and he came down with his undershirt and pants on. He said that he was waiting for his shirt. He sat on the floor by the ironing board and with this intent look of concentration said " It's like you'r massaging my shirt."
