A new niece joins our family!

A new niece was born into our family this morning around 1:00am. A beautiful daughter to Troy and Cari (Boomer's Sister). 6 lbs. 10 oz. and 18" long. What a joy it is to be in the presence of a new baby, and to think that they have just left being with our Heavenly Father and those that are no longer with us. Cari wasn't due until April 10th, and I have to say that I am suprised that Buss and Marilyn let her go so soon. Both Mom and baby are doing great!! Her name is still in negotiation and I will have to let you know what she is going to be called, when I know for sure! We love her already, even though Jensen and Easton were bummed she was a girl, seeings as the girls out number the boys in the Whittaker family 10-6! They were hoping for a boy to even up the numbers more! She is so alert for having been born only a few hours ago!

Logan's Eagle Scout Project is FINALLY Complete!!

I guess you could say that having Logan's Eagle Scout project completed makes me extremely over joyed and relieved! Logan has had all of his merit badges and been a Life Scout since he was 14, yes that is 4 years!!! Log wanted to do his project on his own time and in his own way. Realistically, I think he wanted to stress his mother out, by proving to her he is his own man! I am proud of him because once he finally decided that he only had 6 weeks before he turned 18, and that he should get on it, he really did all the work and did a great job organizing his helpers and his project. He decided that he was going to go door to door selling 72 hour water jugs and spickets to the members of our ward. He filled each jug with water and provided the chemicals needed to purify the water when it's use was needed. He delivered all the jugs and put them away where the customers desired them to be stored. He had his Dad help him sell the jugs, but soon realized that his Dad really does love to visit. He is an amazing young man and he will go far in his life, as long as it is on his own time and in his own way. Way to go Logan!!! I know you will never regret being an Eagle Scout! He had his buddies help him deliver the filled jugs. The filling station, hahaha! Delivering them to the houses. He had lots of helpers and bought them all drinks after they helped him finish.

Rookie Baseball Tryouts!

There is actually not anything much better than Little League Baseball! This will be Easton's first year, and he is actually not quite old enough, but T-ball is painful and they are going to allow him to play....yeah!!! It was very fun watching the tryouts and seeing how well boys this age actually play. We (especially me) are sooooo excited for baseball this year, and we will have all 3 boys playing!! Can't wait to sit in the sun at the ballpark and keep score!

We are the Champions!

Thursday night was what we thought would be the championship game for the 7th grade Basketball League in American Fork. The Thunder did win, and won by a landslide 38-24. However, because the team that they beat hadn't lost yet, the Thunder had to play them again on Friday night to decide the true Champions. Friday night was a very exciting game and wasn't quite the landslide that the night before had been. The Thunder won but only by a few points....37-35. It was a very fun night, especially because Jensen's team was victorious! Funny thing....Logan's team won the Championship in 7th grade as well! Go Thunder!!

Basketball....March Madness!!

This past week has been Jensen's 7th grade Basketball Tournament. They went into the tournament with a BYE for the first game. They had the best record in the division. The second game was on my birthday and they won the team by 7 or 8 points. They have really started playing well together. The 3rd game of the tournament, they lost by 4 points, putting them in the Consolation bracket. Jensen had a great game scoring 11 points. The tournament is double elimination so they would still have a chance at the Finals if they win the rest of their games.
Gege told him that he plays like a young John Stockton. That made Jensen smile.
Their 4th game was last night and they beat the team by 7 points, and Jensen had another great game with a 3 pointer and 9 points. They will be in the finals tonight, playing the team that they lost to on Tuesday. Go Thunder!!

Toothless!

Easton woke up this morning and said that his tooth was hurting. We looked at it and wiggled it and sure enough it was loose. I also looked at it and noticed that the new one was already coming in and it was behind the loose one. I told E that he needed to keep wiggling it, because it needed to come out. All day he wiggled it, and finally at around 4pm, he said "When's Dad coming home, I want him to pull out my tooth."

Boomer has BEGGED all of the kids to let him pull out their teeth. A few of them have allowed him to try, but only once and they never let him again. I don't know what it is about pulling the kids teeth, but Boomer loves it. When Boomer got home, Easton ran to him and asked him to pull out his tooth. Boomer was sooooo excited, it totally made his day. With one little twist the tooth was out! Yeah!!!

That night, Easton put his tooth under his pillow and went to bed. Let's just say that he tried to go to sleep. He came in after just a bit, and was very upset. He said that he was worried about the tooth fairy. Seriously worried! We decided it might be best to put the tooth in Mom's room and on her chair.

He checked the chair and found that the tooth fairy had, in Easton's words, "Left me only a dollar!" Kids these days! It didn't bother him that my tooth fairy only left me a quarter.

Answering for Sadie Hawkins!

On Sunday night as we are sitting around the kitchen table, we hear the doorbell ring. Jensen opens the door to find a note that says Logan is being asked to Sadie Hawkins dance and that to find out who it is, Logan has to find the Easter eggs hidden in our front yard. In one of the eggs, is the girls name. Log and J searched the entire yard and brought the eggs in the house. All the eggs had candy, but one egg was empty. No name! About 15 minutes later, another knock at the door with another not and a single egg! Oops! She had forgotten to put her name in it! Mandy!

So on Monday night, Logan figured out how he was going to answer her. His friend James had a cow suit, and they decided that Mandy should put on the cow suit and look around Wal-mart for her answer. She was to look for a little tike in a sign....hence Easton is the tike. He was excited to go help Logan, but more excited that he got to give her flowers....he said "Mom, 10 flowers!"
