Easton's President's Report

Today was Easton's 3rd grade President's report. The president that he chose to report on was Franklin Delano Roosevelt. He did a great job and I was impressed with all the things he told the class about FDR. His famous phrase....."Only fear is fear itself." Easton spoke clearly and did a great job on his poster.

Miss Hinckley, his teacher, asked if any one had questions for Easton, and E was able to answer all the questions that were asked.
He was pretty nervous. When I got to the classroom, I put my arm around him and I could feel his little heart beating so very fast.
I was very proud of Easton and thought he should get a "Atta-boy" for the report and presentation.
Easton and his classmates performed the Preamble that they have been memorizing in class. "WE the People...."
They even had a few hand actions.

Friends for Life

Meet Jensen and Lindsay! These 2 are definitely friends for life. They have been friends since before they were 3. I have to say I think they are BFF's. Lindsay and Jensen hang together, fight like brother and sister, stick up for each other, look out for each other, keep each other making good choices, and play together. This is a picture of them at Park City boarding/skiing. They've had a pass there together for 3 years. I am grateful for Lindsay because she pretty much keeps J and his buddies in line. They are great friends and great kids that make good choices. Love that they are such good friends. Love them both!

In Logan's Honor

Being the youngest child has its perks, but it also has its bummers! We have always teased Easton that eventually he would become an only child, having to hang out with Mom and Dad because everyone else is busy with their activities and lives. Tonight was one of those nights. To get Easton to hang out and go eat with Boom and I we bribed him with "Wingers famous Asphalt Pie" (which is technically Logan's favorite). He decided that was a pretty good trade off. He dedicated his Asphalt Pie to Logan and ate it all in his honor (except Dad had a few bites to share). We are excited to have 2 on 1 time with Easton as we hang on to life as parents on the brink of being grandparents.

Ice Skating for FHE

For the past few months, "The Whittaker Clan" has been having FHE once a month. February was our month to plan and we decided that it would be fun to go ice skating. It was very fun and we enjoyed being together. The Savages were sick and unable to come, but we missed them. Ryne was missed as well, he had to work, and Chase couldn't be there either. Thanks everyone for a great night and being so willing to do whatever we planned.

Easton was so excited to go ice skating. He hadn't ever been before. He got his skates on but didn't want to wait for anyone to go with him. I think he thought it was going to be so easy. First time around the rink, he fell hard on his bottom and there wasn't anything I could say or do to get him back on the ice. He decided "I am NEVER skating again." Hopefully, time will heal and maybe next year he will give it another try.

These 3 were party goers, but non-skaters due to injuries and as they all said "We're too old!"

3rd Grade Basketball!!!

January thru March are the basketball months, and much to Boomer's chagrin, Easton wanted desperately to play. January thru March are typically the skiing months as well, hence Boomer's chagrin. We are hoping that it is a phase for Easton and that skiing will become his favorite winter sport, instead of basketball. However, due to his amazing season, we don't see this happening. It was fun to watch Easton play basketball and to see what a great team player he truly is.

Easton made alot of points for his team this year, but what I loved most was how he made sure that all the boys had an opportunity to shoot the ball. Easton made passes to everyone and cheered loud when they scored.
